BTW GEO Core (formerly CM GEO Core) is a lightweight, data-safe WordPress plugin that injects two of the most powerful schema types — FAQPage and LocalBusiness — directly into your pages using a single shortcode. Built for the era of AI-powered search, it helps your content get found, read, and cited by Google, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and other generative search engines.
Most businesses have FAQ pages. Very few have properly structured schema markup that AI tools can actually read and cite. BTW GEO Core bridges that gap — with no coding required and no risk of losing your work.
Your data is always safe
Earlier versions of this plugin deleted all your saved data when the plugin was deactivated or removed. That is no longer the case. Starting with v1.1.0, your data is fully preserved — deactivate, delete, reinstall, and your groups come back exactly as you left them. You are always in control.
What it does
- Injects valid FAQPage JSON-LD schema so Google and AI tools can read your Q&A content directly
- Injects LocalBusiness schema with address, GPS coordinates, and service area description
- Displays a clean, collapsible FAQ accordion visible to human visitors
- Supports multiple page groups — create independent schema profiles for each page of your site
- Manage all your groups from a single dropdown selector — no more typing group names manually
- Delete Group button — remove any specific group’s data permanently, on demand, with confirmation
- Uses your site’s favicon as the accordion trigger icon automatically
- Allows custom trigger label per group
How it works
- Go to BTW GEO Core in your WordPress admin
- Type a new group name (e.g.
servicepage, blogpage, homepage) or select an existing one from the dropdown - Click Load Group — existing data loads instantly; new names start with a fresh form
- Choose what the group is — Business profile or FAQ only — then fill in its details and FAQ pairs
- Copy the shortcode shown:
[cm_geo_core group="group-name"] - Paste it anywhere in your page or post
- Click Save Group — done, schema is live
Why GEO, not just SEO?
GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimization — optimizing your content to be cited by AI-powered search tools. As Google, ChatGPT, and Perplexity increasingly answer questions directly from structured data, having proper schema markup is no longer optional. BTW GEO Core makes it simple, safe, and manageable for any WordPress site owner.

Does this work with page builders like Elementor?
-
Yes. Paste the shortcode
[cm_geo_core group="group-name"]into any HTML or Shortcode widget in Elementor, Divi, or any other builder. -
How should I set up my groups?
-
Every group has one purpose, chosen at the top of section 1:
- Business profile — describes the business itself: name, street, city, state, zip, and GPS. It outputs LocalBusiness schema (plus any FAQs it holds). Create one per business, for example a group named
business-profile, and place its shortcode on your home page or contact page. - FAQ only — questions and answers for one page or topic. It outputs FAQPage schema only and has no address fields. Create as many as you need, for example
services-faqorpricing-faq.
Why this matters: Google and AI search tools build one picture of your business. If the same address is entered in many groups, the site publishes many separate business entries, which can look like duplicate or conflicting information. One business profile plus FAQ-only groups keeps that picture clean.
Branches or extra locations of the same business belong inside the business profile group (Additional Locations, in BTW GEO Core Pro), not in separate groups.
Groups created before version 1.2.2 are set automatically: groups with a city or GPS coordinates become Business profile, the others become FAQ only. Nothing on your site changes. Switching a group’s type never deletes its data; the hidden fields come back when you switch again.

-
Can I have different FAQ schemas on different pages?
-
Yes — that is the core feature. Create a different group name for each page and each one is completely independent. Use the dropdown in the admin panel to quickly switch between and edit your saved groups.
-
I saved my changes but the page still shows the old version. Why?
-
Your site is showing a cached copy. BTW GEO Core clears the cache of common caching plugins automatically when you save, and the Clear Cache button does it on demand. If your host or a CDN such as Cloudflare adds its own cache layer, clear it in your hosting panel or CDN dashboard too.
-
Will this conflict with Rank Math or Yoast SEO?
-
BTW GEO Core injects schema via shortcode only on pages where you place it. It coexists cleanly with Rank Math, Yoast, and other SEO plugins.
-
What happens to my data if I delete the plugin?
-
Your data is preserved. Deactivating or deleting BTW GEO Core does not remove your saved groups from the database. If you reinstall and activate the plugin later, your data will be available again. To permanently delete a specific group, load it in the plugin settings and use the Delete Group button.
-
Why did the name change from CM GEO Core to BTW GEO Core?
-
Only the display name changed, to match the developer’s studio, Black Tie WMS. Nothing else changed: your groups, your settings, and the
[cm_geo_core]shortcode on your pages all keep working exactly as before. No action is needed. -
Is there a Pro version?
-
Yes. BTW GEO Core Pro is an optional add-on that adds business hours and contact details, Service schema, multiple locations, a visitor business card, and automatic injection without shortcodes. This free plugin is fully functional on its own and never requires Pro.

Muutosloki
1.2.2
- New: each group now has a purpose: Business profile (name and address, outputs LocalBusiness schema) or FAQ only (FAQ schema only, address fields hidden). This keeps the business address in one place and prevents duplicate business entries across pages
- New: existing groups are set automatically (city or GPS saved = Business profile, otherwise FAQ only), so your current schema output does not change
- New: a new group starts as Business profile when the site has none yet, otherwise as FAQ only
- New: FAQ ”How should I set up my groups?” explains the purpose of each type
- New: saving or deleting a group automatically clears your page cache (LiteSpeed, WP Rocket, W3 Total Cache, WP Super Cache, SiteGround, WP Fastest Cache, Breeze), so changes show on your site right away
- New: a Clear Cache button on the settings screen
- Developer: new functions
cm_geo_core_clear_page_cache()andcm_geo_core_get_group_type(), actioncm_geo_core_cache_cleared, and the admin classcm-geo-business-onlyfor add-on fields that apply to business profiles only
1.2.1
- New: a Settings link and a Get BTW GEO Core Pro link in the Plugins list
- New: a short BTW GEO Core Pro overview at the top of the settings screen, hidden automatically when Pro is active
- New: a link to leave a review on WordPress.org at the bottom of the settings screen
- Changed: Pro links now point directly to the BTW GEO Core Pro page
- No changes to your groups, schema output, or the
[cm_geo_core]shortcode
1.2.0
- Renamed: the plugin’s display name is now BTW GEO Core (formerly CM GEO Core). Your groups, settings, and the
[cm_geo_core]shortcode are unchanged. - Improved: after saving, the group you were editing stays loaded instead of returning to an empty form
- Improved: the shortcode banner shows the exact shortcode for the loaded group
- Changed: removed the thin divider line the shortcode drew above the FAQ link, so several shortcodes on one page stack neatly; your page’s own headings and dividers handle separation
- New: ”Custom Builds” page with information about custom development from Black Tie WMS
- Improved: Save Group is disabled until a group name is loaded, preventing saves to an unnamed group
- Fix: save and delete now run before the page renders, so the redirect works on every server configuration
- Fix: removed a leftover duplicate admin JavaScript file
- Developer: new extension hooks —

1.1.0
This release focuses on three things: keeping your data safe, making group management easier, and giving you clearer guidance throughout the plugin.
Your data is now safe
In previous versions, deleting or deactivating the plugin removed all your saved groups and FAQ data permanently. That was a serious risk for users who had invested time building their schema profiles. Starting with v1.1.0, your data is fully preserved in the WordPress database even if you deactivate or delete the plugin. If you ever reinstall and reactivate it, all your groups come back exactly as you left them. To permanently remove a group, simply load it and use the new Delete Group button — giving you full, intentional control.
Easier group management
* New: Group dropdown selector — all your existing groups appear as suggestions when you click the Group Name field; no more typing names from memory
* New: Delete Group button — appears next to Save Group when a real group is loaded; greyed out otherwise to prevent accidental use
* New: New group indicator — when you type a group name that does not exist yet, a clear message tells you it is new and guides you to fill in the form
* New: Persistent data retention notice — a friendly on-screen reminder explains that your data is safe and how to permanently delete groups if needed
Cleaner, clearer interface
* ”Page Group Slug” renamed to ”Group Name” — more meaningful for non-developers
* ”Save Settings” renamed to ”Save Group” — reflects exactly what the button does
* Group Shortcode banner updated to show a static placeholder format so it is always clear how to use the shortcode
* Browser autocomplete suppressed on the Group Name field to prevent confusion between saved browser history and real group suggestions
