Gateway Coupon Assistant enhances your WooCommerce store’s marketing capabilities by allowing you to create coupons that are restricted to specific payment gateways. This feature enables you to run targeted promotions, encouraging customers to use certain payment methods, which can help reduce transaction fees or improve cash flow.
The plugin seamlessly integrates with the native WooCommerce coupon system, adding a new ”Gateway Restriction” tab to the coupon settings. You can also set up customizable promotional banners that appear on the cart and checkout pages to inform customers about your special gateway-specific offers.

How to Use
Creating a gateway-specific coupon is simple:

Create or Edit a Coupon:
- Navigate to WooCommerce > Coupons in your WordPress dashboard.
- Create a new coupon or edit an existing one.

Set the Restriction:
- In the ”Coupon data” section, click on the Gateway Restriction tab.
- From the ”Allowed Payment Gateways” dropdown, select one or more payment gateways where this coupon should be valid.
- Save or update the coupon.

Configure the Promotional Banner (Optional):
- Go to WooCommerce > Gateway Coupons.
- In the ”Main Banner Content” tab, enter the coupon code you want to feature in the banner.
- Customize the banner message, template, and colors.
- In the ”Banner Display Locations” tab, choose where you want the banner to appear (cart page, checkout page, etc.) and set device visibility.
- Save the settings.
That’s it! The plugin will now automatically validate the coupon against the customer’s chosen payment method during checkout.

Asennus
Installing Gateway Coupon Assistant is easy. Choose your preferred method below:
Method 1: Install from your WordPress Dashboard (Recommended)
- Navigate to Plugins > Add New from your WordPress admin panel.
- In the search bar, type ”Gateway Coupon Assistant” and press Enter.
- Find the plugin in the search results and click Install Now.
- After installation is complete, click Activate.
- Go to WooCommerce > Gateway Coupons to configure the plugin settings.
Method 2: Manual Installation
- Download the plugin ZIP file from the WordPress.org plugin repository.
- Navigate to Plugins > Add New from your WordPress admin panel.
- Click the Upload Plugin button at the top of the page.
- Select the ZIP file you downloaded and click Install Now.
- After installation is complete, click Activate.
That’s it! You are now ready to create your first gateway-specific coupon.

Can I set a maximum discount amount for percentage coupons with this plugin?

Yes! As of version 1.1.0, you can set a ”Discount Cap” for any coupon that uses the ”Percentage discount” type. Simply go to the ”Gateway Restriction” tab when editing a coupon, and you will find the field to set a maximum limit for the discount amount. This field will only appear for percentage-based coupons.

Does this plugin work with any payment gateway?

Yes, it automatically detects all active payment gateways in your WooCommerce store and lists them in the restriction settings.

Can I restrict a coupon to multiple gateways?

Absolutely. The ”Allowed Payment Gateways” field is a multi-select box, allowing you to choose as many gateways as you need.

What happens if a customer changes their payment method after applying a coupon?

The plugin intelligently re-validates the cart. If the new payment method is not allowed for the applied coupon, the coupon will be automatically removed, and a notification will inform the customer why.
